Mr. Ostergar is a founding partner of Ostergar Lattin Julander LLP. In 1993 Mr. Ostergar started his practice as a business litigator with Rutan & Tucker LLP, Orange County's largest law firm. After five years of practice with Rutan, he became in-house counsel for one of his clients, Buy.com Inc. -- one of the world's premier Internet retailers. After returning to private practice in 2002 he founded the Ostergar Law Group in 2004, which has now become Ostergar Lattin Julander.

Mr. Ostergar has served as corporate counsel and litigation counsel for many companies in a variety of fields including internet retail and marketing, software development and sales, manufacturing, logistics, aerospace, cryptocurrency services, network security, cosmetics, construction, and others. He also provides trademark services and counseling to clients worldwide. His unique combination of both transactional and litigation experience gives him a unique perspective that benefits his clients.

He graduated from University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law, with distinction, in 1993 where he was a recipient of the Annabelle McGeorge Academic Achievement Scholarship and was a member of the Order of the Coif. He received his Bachelor's Degree from Brigham Young University in Portuguese with a minor in mathematics.

Mr. Ostergar is authorized to practice law in all California state courts as well as the federal courts in the Central, Southern and Eastern Districts of California and the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals.

Mr. Ostergar is sometimes seen riding a tandem bike with his wife Cathy around Orange County and beyond. He loves it when any of their 5 children join him.

John Lattin

John Lattin is a partner.  For over 20 years, he has specialized in employment law and has litigated employment related lawsuits and administrative complaints on behalf of employees and employers.  In addition, John has been a college-level employment law professor and has lectured extensively to human resources professionals regarding employment law compliance and best practices.  Over his career, John has regularly conducted in-house management seminars and training sessions for executives, supervisors, managers, and human resources professionals in all aspects of employment law. 

John represents employees and employers in unlawful harassment and discrimination matters and has extensive experience handling complex, multi-plaintiff wage & hour matters.  He litigates in both state and federal courts as well as before state and federal agencies, such as the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), the California Department of Fair Employment and Housing (DFEH), and the Division of Labor Standards Enforcement (DLSE).

His experience representing both employees and employers enables John to provide unique insight and counsel to clients on both sides of employment disputes. 


Treg A. Julander

After 20 years as an attorney at large law firms and in house with a general contractor, Mr. Julander has the depth and breadth of experience to solve the most complex legal problems, with particular expertise in construction law, appellate practice, insurance coverage and business litigation.

From 2008 to 2018, Mr. Julander served as General Counsel for Advent Companies in San Juan Capistrano, California, a general contractor specializing in the construction of affordable housing. As General Counsel, he was responsible for negotiating and drafting construction and intellectual property contracts, handling the company’s litigation and appeals, and counseling officers on employment issues.

Prior to joining Advent Companies, Mr. Julander was a partner in the Trial Section at Rutan & Tucker, LLP in Costa Mesa, California. At Rutan & Tucker, he handled numerous state and federal court appeals and complex business and insurance coverage litigation. Mr. Julander began his legal career in the business litigation department at Wiley, Rein & Fielding in Washington, D.C. in 1994, where he specialized in insurance coverage appeals and asbestos litigation.

Mr. Julander is a member of the Fellowship of the Construction Lawyers Society of America. He has been recognized as an Avvo Rated Top Lawyer from 2017 to 2023 and recognized among America’s Most Honored Lawyers from 2018 to 2023.

Mr. Julander graduated from George Washington University in 1994 with highest honors. He was a member of the George Washington University Law Review, Vice President for Interscholastic Affairs of the Moot Court Board, a member of the Order of the Coif, and recipient of the Glen A. Wilkinson Fellowship Award. He received his BS from Weber State University in Political Science.

Mr. Julander is the author of “Until Murder Do Us Part,” a legal thriller (Parables Publishing 2014) (www.TregJulander.com). He is also the co-designer of “My Soundtrack,” a family card game under contract to be published by Card Lords. Mr. Julander also hosts a podcast about rock music at www.RockTaleHour.com. He lives in Rancho Santa Margarita, California with his wife, Jenny, and enjoys mountain biking, hiking, rock concerts, and tabletop games with Jenny and their two daughters.

Catherine Meshkin

Catherine Meshkin spent the last ten years teaching Legal Research and Writing, Oral Advocacy, Contract Drafting and Negotiations at various law schools, including George Mason University, Antonin Scalia Law School in Arlington, Virginia and Chapman University, Fowler School of Law in downtown Orange.

Ms. Meshkin clerked for the Honorable Sharon Prost with the U.S. Court of Appeals, Federal Circuit, and the Honorable Stuart G. Nash with the Superior Court of the District of Columbia. She has served as a legal consultant at various corporations, organizations, and law firms, handling matters such as complex legal research, contract review, corporate restructuring, mergers and acquisitions, civil litigation, healthcare law, and more.

Ms. Meshkin earned her undergraduate degree from UCLA and her law degree from George Mason University. She has been published in the Engage Legal Journal, filed a Brief of Amicus Curiae before the U.S. Supreme Court, and co-authored a chapter in the 2017 edition of Health Law and Compliance. She also serves on the J. Reuben Clark Law Society’s Orange County Chapter Board. She is licensed in Maryland.
